Mom was in labor at home, progressing nicely, so controlled that it wasn’t always easy for her midwife or doula to recognize when she was having a contraction. Feeling off in her pelvis, mom asked if Dr. Ian could come to her house and check her. When he arrived, she was lying in bed, so calm she appeared to be sleeping. Dr. Ian checked the movement in her pelvis and found it stuck, a subluxation, the sacrum and pelvis were not moving as well as they should which interferes with birth. He made a gentle adjustment and WHOA…mom let out a loud moan and the midwife and doula looked at each other “that was different” as mom felt more pressure in her pelvic floor. Dr. Ian finished with the adjustment, packed up and headed out, but before he left their community he received a text from the doula that baby Saint had arrived! So he turned back and got him checked, in bed next to mom.

Hi everyone, this is Tonia 😊

Just a quick update — this Thursday, Oct. 23rd, we’ll be open only from 11:00 to 11:50 AM.

Also, I’ll be out of the office starting Wednesday, Oct. 29th as I head to Colorado for my wedding 💍🎃

Dr. Tom will be solo in the office while I’m gone, so phone calls and messages may take a little longer for him to get to. The office will remain open normal hours, except closed on Halloween (Friday, Oct. 31st).

While I’m away, appointment reminders won’t be sent out, and I won’t be available by text as often, so please plan ahead and stop in or call during office hours if you need anything directly from Dr. Tom.

Thank you all for understanding while I take a little wedding-week break 💜�
