Community outreach team members April and Lacey attended the King County Behavioral Health Legislative Forum last month. It was an evening of conversation and learning among the mental health and substance use recovery communities, state and local lawmakers, behavioral health providers, and King County leaders. Together, they celebrated mental health and substance use recovery, shared in the conversation, and engaged with King County’s legislative priorities for behavioral health in 2026.

The forum was produced and hosted by the Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) Behavioral Health and Recovery Division.

Community outreach team members Tyler and William James represented Ideal Option at the 3rd Annual IMPACT Behavioral Health Fair and Fundraiser. Additionally, Tyler was the host and emcee for both the resource fair and the dinner fundraiser. Former NFL alum Jeff Hatch was the Keynote Speaker and Eric Deno of STARS received the 2025 IMPACT Award.

After struggling with addiction for many years, Jason was scared to walk through the doors of Ideal Option.

"But I took the leap," he recalls. "I was ready to get clean and went off of my own gut instinct."

Now, Jason says he is so glad he chose to go to Ideal Option over anywhere else.

It was an evening of reflection, connection, and celebration as attendees unmasked the stigma around mental health and uplifted the community through hope and healing.
