Anita has lived in New Lyme for 25 years, is happily married for 33 years, and has two wonderful kids. She loves gardening and spending time with her animals. With 27 years of experience as an STNA, Anita brings incredible compassion and dedication to her work every day.

When asked what she loves most about The Legacy, Anita shared:

“Everyone is kind and compassionate. God blessed me with this job.” 🙏

🌟 Congratulations to Laura Dicken, Life Enrichment Coordinator at The Legacy Assisted Living, on being named a 2025 OHCA Assisted Living Excellence Award recipient! 🌟

Laura is the definition of kindness and excellence. She constantly goes above and beyond to make every resident feel included and valued—whether she’s arranging fishing trips, helping a former farmer build a garden, connecting veterans with fellow vets, or ensuring even bedbound residents are part of every activity.

Her creativity transforms the entire community. From Shark Week to Carnival Day to this year’s Wizard of Oz Halloween theme, Laura brings every event to life with detail, energy, and heart. She inspires the whole staff to join in and creates a sense of joy and togetherness that residents and families feel every day.

Laura’s dedication to knowing each resident and lifting up her team is unmatched. Please join us in celebrating her well-deserved recognition! 💛✨

🐾💛 Rummage Sale Success for a Great Cause! 💛🐾

We recently held a rummage sale at Legacy Assisted Living and are thrilled to share that we donated $700 to Canine Classroom! 🥳

Canine Classroom is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to educating the public — especially students — about responsible pet ownership. We’re so proud to support their mission and make a positive impact in our community. 🐶📚

Thank you to everyone who shopped, donated, or helped make this event a success!

🎉🖤 Bingo Fun with Johnston Senior Center! 🖤🎉

We had an amazing time when the Johnston Senior Center came to play bingo with us! The best part? Whenever one of their team won, they generously let our residents take the prizes. 🥳💛

It was a day full of laughter, fun, and friendly competition — we can’t wait until they come back to play again! 🎲

What a wonderful time visiting Kinsman Senior Center this month for our monthly craft session! Our project? Mod Podge pumpkins — a perfect way to get creative and celebrate the season. 🍂

It was such a joy crafting, chatting, and sharing laughter with everyone. We can’t wait for next month’s creative adventure! 💛

Our residents had a wonderful time visiting Hartford Apple Orchard to pick fresh apples and enjoy the beautiful fall scenery! 🍂
