During Storm Fern, our Union General Hospital team remained dedicated to caring for patients through extreme ice and freezing conditions. We are deeply grateful to our staff who stayed, served, and supported one another.

We also thank our first responders, law enforcement, linemen, road crews, and all essential workers who worked tirelessly to keep our community safe and restore services.

As the sun shines again, we are reminded of God’s power and care even in the coldest moments.

Sharing a few photos of Wesley Hunter Futch with the Farmerville Fire Department clearing ice outside the hospital today to allow the Pafford Air One helicopter to land and to ensure first responders had safe access to the ER and hospital.

We truly appreciate Mayor John Crow and the Town of Farmerville for lending their skid steer, along with Billy Jung, Hunter, and all the staff who stayed at the hospital during these extreme conditions.

Special thanks to first responders Darra Gremillion Jung, Director of Nurses, Billy Jung, Robert Allen, and Hunter for safely picking up and taking employees home.

While patients continue to be cared for throughout the hospital, including on the floor, your dedication ensures continuous care and helps save lives, especially in the ER.

Due to weather conditions, Union General Rural Health Clinic will be closed Monday, January 27, 2026.

Our plan is to open Tuesday, January 28, 2026 at noon, weather permitting.
