I had asthma until my early 20’s ….. and literally had no idea what a boundary was or that saying “No” was okay until I was 26 and read the book “Boundaries” by Townsend & Cloud, recommended to me by a Christian counselor.
Vulnerable lungs and zero capacity for boundaries? I don’t think that was coincidence. In Chinese Medicine, the two are related!!! 🤯🤯🤯
Trouble setting boundaries? As you do the emotional and spiritual inner work (and see me for NeuroEmotional technique to clear the subconscious barriers to seeing, maintaining, and feeling worthy of healthy boundaries…😉🫶🏻) also be mindful of caring for your lungs!
Things that support healthy lungs:
-BREATHE. 🤍 take a deep breathe. Notice how it fills your chest. Be present with yourself, even for that one breath. Be mindful of breathing in through your nose (not mouth breathing).
-Cry when you need to cry, grieve what you need to grieve. Don’t hold those things back!! (Lungs are associated with grief, sadness, & longing in Chinese Medicine)
-eat seasonally: fall foods here in the Midwest are root vegetables, especially white root veg (white is the color of the lungs in Chinese Medicine. Chinese Medicine basically thinks of every variable😉), apples, heartier meals and broths, “pungent” spices like ginger, onion, garlic, cinnamon, pepper and white peppercorns.
-eliminate fragrances and scents from your environments (no plug-ins, car fresheners, scented detergents, soaps, etc UNLESS the scent is from a pure essential oil!!! Not sure? Read the label, love 🫶🏻 and know that “fragrance” or “parfum” as an ingredient literally means poison.)
Did you know an organ could have an impact on boundaries? What stands out to you out of all this? I’d love to know!
