Caring for a loved one with a serious illness often comes with difficult questions—especially around palliative care and hospice care. 💙 While these terms are sometimes used interchangeably, they offer support at different stages and for different needs.

Palliative care can begin at any point in an illness and focuses on comfort, symptom relief, and quality of life—alongside curative treatment if desired. Hospice care is for those nearing the end of life, centering on dignity, comfort, and support for both patients and families.

Understanding the difference can help you make thoughtful, informed decisions during an emotional time. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

What a joyful celebration! Paul was honored on his 100th birthday surrounded by friends, family, neighbors, and past students.

Paul spent many years inspiring students as an English teacher at Bethlehem High School, now known as Liberty High School. His dedication to education left a lasting impact on so many lives.

Reaching 100 is an amazing milestone, and we are so grateful to have been a part of such a special day filled with memories, laughter, wisdom, and love.

The dying process can be unfamiliar — but understanding the changes that often occur can help families feel more prepared, less anxious, and better able to focus on what matters most: comfort, connection, and love.

Making hospice decisions for a loved one is never easy — especially when changes like eating and drinking begin to shift. 💙

For many families, this can feel alarming or overwhelming. In reality, a decreased appetite is often a natural part of the body’s final transition — and not a sign of suffering.

In our latest blog, we share:
• Why loved ones may stop eating or drinking near the end of life
• How hospice care supports comfort, dignity, and peace
• What families can do to provide comfort without causing distress
• Guidance on hydration, artificial feeding, and honoring personal wishes
