here4U, Inc.

here4U, Inc. here4U, Inc. is a supportive care resource for the families of babies & children facing complex medical conditions or serious health issues You can do this.

At here4U we understand what it's like to have a baby, child, teen, or young adult with medically-complex needs, or who is seriously-ill. We have been where you are, or supported familly members on similar medical journeys with their child, so we "get it". The late nights, the worries and fear, the lack of sleep, the need to research on the internet to get answers or just to understand everything that is being thrown at you about your child's condition, the being stretched and not having the energy or patience to deal with or care for your other children, and so much more--yes, we understand. So, consider us a friend on the web. Someone you can turn to once we get our website up and running, who will listen to you, help educate you, and support you so that you can be the best parent and advocate for your child that you can and want to be. The road will not be easy, but you do not need to go it alone. We are here4U.

We remember them.
07/19/2024

We remember them.

No matter how old they were...
How long it has been...
How they died...
Whether it was expected or not...

We NEVER stop thinking about them...
Missing them...
Loving them.

We ALWAYS want to hear their name...
Have those around us mention them...
Talk about them.

No month of recognition is necessary for us.

We carry this every single day.

As long as our child isn't physically here,
This grief we feel will walk beside us.

Because we see the space they should fill...
We hear the deafening silence, even in chaos...
We wonder what they would be like...
We mourn what is missing and being missed. - Emily Graham

So proud to be part of this Pediatric e-Journal Work Group and sit on the Pediatric Advisory Council for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. Check out the 75th Anniversary Issue, with an eye towards looking forward in the field. We have come far, but there is much work to be done.

The Pediatric e-Journal, originally named ChiPPS E-Newsletter, has been continuously published.

Barbie has launched its first doll with Down’s syndrome as part of its diverse Fashionistas line.

Trailblazing British model Ellie Goldstein, who has Down’s syndrome, appeared in a campaign with the new Barbie.

Mattel, the makers of Barbie, created the doll in close partnership with the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) in the US.

These are such beautiful momentos for these families...for some, it's all they'll ever have to remember their babies by. Great to see grants being given to support this work.

"Spending time with a child, after death, can be incredibly important for parents in the process of their grief. Being able to support them by creating casts of their loved one provides a special moment at a time that is filled with sadness and loss, as well as giving them something tangible to continue to hold on to."

When a family loses their child, children's hospices can provide a peaceful place for them to say goodbye. At Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, grieving families were given the opportunity to create hand and feet castings of their child, providing them with a physical keepsake to help families remember the precious time spent with their loved one.

Our Making Memories Grant, which has been funded through Morrisons partnership fundraising, helped pay for this beautiful project, alongside others like it. To find out more about the grant, and apply, please follow the link: https://bit.ly/3KzhWOo
