🌟April is Autism Acceptance Month - and we're here to celebrate!🌟

This month, we honor the incredible autistic individuals in our lives and in our community. Acceptance means more than awareness; it means embracing different ways of thinking, communicating, and experiencing the world.

At Spark, acceptance isn't just something we celebrate in April. It's something we practice every day - in our clinical work, in our workplace, and in our community.

To every family who trusts us with your child's journey: thank you. We are honored to be part of it. 💙

February Fun! All month long, our staff put their spatial reasoning skills to the test with our Guess the Candy challenge! 🧠💡 Eight different jars. Eight different candies. Eight chances to win! From nerd clusters to conversation hearts, we counted, we guessed, we debated, and we had some laughs!
Here's to the winners, and to everyone who said "at least 500" when the answer was 87. 🏆

This week we’re celebrating Madi and the positivity she brings to Spark each day! ✨ Madi is always cheering on those around her and lifting them up. Her dedication to her learners, teamwork, and willingness to jump in wherever needed make such a difference in our center. We’re so grateful to have her as part of our team! 💙

Our BCBAs and graduate students had the opportunity to attend the BAAM Conference at Eastern Michigan University this week! Conferences like this are a valuable way for our team to stay current on research, best practices, and innovative strategies in the field of behavior analysis. We even had the chance to reconnect with former colleagues and see some familiar faces along the way! 💙

It all starts with a spark

The Behavior Health Center of Excellence® (BHCOE®) is an international accrediting body created to meet accreditation needs specific to the delivery of behavior analysis. The BHCOE’s accreditation requirements undergo regular review according to international standards for organizations that grant accreditation. All BHCOE requirements and survey content are reviewed annually by content experts. BHCOE Accreditation ® is a certification given to an applied behavior analysis provider once it has demonstrated it has met and continues to meet an assortment of clinical and administrative standards as determined by an independent third-party evaluator.

The SPARK Center was the first center to receive this respected accreditation in the state of Michigan and are one of only five in the state with the more prestigious (and difficult to earn) 2 year accreditation!

Dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, the Spark Center for Autism provides early intervention based on the principles of applied behavior analysis.

At the Spark Center, our primary goal is to increase functional skills and decrease behaviors that negatively impact daily living. We believe that the best outcomes are achieved by tailoring interventions to the individual based on their specific needs. We believe in working with families to share and teach these principles in order to help enhance the lives of the children and their families.
