Have you read Ricky the Rock That Couldn't Roll?? This is the narrative language unit to finish (or start!) your school year. Kids of all ages LOVE this book. I typically use it to target vocabulary and show progress using students’ pretests and post-tests. There is a yes/no and 2 choices pretest as well as an open ended questions pretest. I recently had two students go from 20% to 100% on their pre and post-tests! And you can do SO MUCH MORE - grammar, opposites/synonyms, comprehension, feelings, and more!
