Longwood University SHLS & Communication Sciences and Disorders Program Longwood University's Speech, Hearing & Learning Services provides speech-language and audiology services in Southcentral Virginia.

Speech, Hearing and Learning Services
Services available for adults include treatment for:
• Stuttering
• Voice
• Swallowing
• Language and Cognition Deficits following Stroke or Traumatic Brain Injury
• Accent Modification
• Hearing Loss
• Speech Sound and Language Disorders
• Hearing Screenings
• Speech-Language Screenings
• Speech, language and voice evaluations

Services available for children and adolescents include treatment for:
• Speech Sound Disorders
• Language Delays or Disorders
• Stuttering
• Hearing Loss
• Feeding and Swallowing Problems
• Early Literacy Difficulties
• Voice Disorders
• Hearing Screenings
• Speech-language Screenings
• Speech, language and voice evaluations
• Summer Language Enrichment Camps for preschool and school-aged students.

Such an awesome opportunity for our students to participate in these groups! 🙌🏼

VDSA is pleased to offer virtual Communication Skill groups thanks to a partnership with Longwood University. Teens ages 13-18 and adults 19 and over are invited to join Longwood University speech therapy students in conversation! This is a low-pressure, conversational style program where you'll connect with each other and have a great time!

The Adults group will meet from 3:30pm until 4:15pm and our teens group will meet from 4:15pm until 5:00pm.

Sessions will take place via Zoom on February 11th, February 25th, March 4th, March 18th, April 8th, and April 22nd.

Today, some of our students attended SHAV advocacy day! The main goal was to discuss bill HB64 with state legislators, as well as 7 other bills. They advocated for continual supports for fluency clients, effectively allowing SLPs to do their job, enhance client-caregiver interactions/supports, and lower costs in the future due to getting the services done currently without insurance barriers the first time! We are proud of our students for advocating!
