When it comes to pursuing the goal of better health and wellness in your community, you don't have to be a seven-figure donor to make a difference. There's always a way for everyone, regardless of means, connections, or age, to impact someone's life.
The The UPMC Horizon and Jameson Foundations were privileged to see that impact in action thanks to the generosity of the elementary age Crochet Club at Greenville Area Public Library a few days ago. The Club's talented and generous young students (seen below with Foundation board member Scott D Grau) decided to participate in The Jared Box Project's initiative to put together several boxes of small toys and items to be donated to UPMC Horizon, to be given to young patients having to make a hospital visit to make their experience a bit less intimidating and stressful.
We're so proud to be part of a community that cares for one another, and it's especially rewarding to see the youngest members of that community wanting to help others going through a challenging experience in a personal and meaningful way. Thank you to the Crochet Club and everyone who helps make our communities healthier and a better place to live!
