Haven't had much time to go to Whirlwind lately but managed to get there this past weekend to check on things. My mysterious helper ( mysterious only because I don't know who it is...)had been there to spray the Johnson Grass and got a good kill on it. I so appreciate whomever you are for the help you give to the care of Whirlwind. I have a project in mind for it soon. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks.... Stay tuned... 😊

This is the Native American Cemetery found 2 years ago abandoned and forgotten...and this is the story of honor it has gained once again...

The 1st ceremony of a new beginning for neglected and all but forgotten Whirlwind Cemetery. With the help of many friends, we honored the deceased buried here in Whirlwind, remembering what they must have went through in those trying times in which they lived here along the South Canadian River. And we honored our veterans, past and present, and thanked them for keeping America free so that we can assemble to honor those who came before us and those serving now... It was a beautiful sight to see the flags once again rise over that lonely, windswept hill... It was a very moving and spirit filled day that found us all blessed tremendously... Thanks to all who participated to make this happen... :)

Our first Memorial Day ceremony since finding an abandoned cemetery on Memorial Day 2016. It was a very spiritual as prayers and blessings were given to those attending, those who are buried there and once forgotten and to the mighty warriors who served in the military or are serving now. This is only the beginning of what is to come for this beautiful and spiritual place.... Watch for more pictures in the coming days....
