Leah brings years of experience and a true passion for helping patients feel their best—inside and out. Leah has been in the medical field since 2007 and has served as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2012. She began her nursing career as a registered nurse in 2009 and has experience caring for patients across the lifespan in acute, inpatient, and outpatient settings. She has also served as healthcare faculty, educating and mentoring future healthcare professionals.

Leah is passionate about preventative medicine and empowering patients to improve their long term health. In addition to her clinical practice, she is a metabolic, weight loss, and health coach who helps individuals and families achieve sustainable weight loss and improved metabolic health through practical, evidence based lifestyle strategies. Her approach focuses on patient education, prevention, and equipping patients with the tools to take an active role in their health and wellness.

We are excited to officially welcome Dr. Kenneth Rice to the team at Sunshine Clinic! Dr. Rice brings an impressive background in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, and Telehealth, with decades of experience caring for patients in fast-paced medical environments. Throughout his career, he has served in leadership and physician roles across multiple healthcare systems and urgent care centers, always focused on delivering efficient, compassionate, and high-quality care to the communities he serves.

Board certified in Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Dr. Rice has built a career centered around helping patients when they need care most. He has also contributed to the education of future medical professionals as clinical faculty with the Medical College of Georgia, demonstrating his commitment to advancing healthcare.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Rice enjoys spending time skiing and enjoying the outdoors, bringing that same energy and passion into everything he does.

We are thrilled to have him join the Sunshine Clinic family and look forward to the expertise and compassion he will bring to caring for our patients and community.

✨ Meet Whitney Sledge, MSN, CRNP, FNP-C! ✨

We’re excited to have Whitney providing Primary and Urgent Care services at Sunshine Clinic of Jasper! Whitney is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of healthcare experience. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville State University and is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Whitney worked as a Registered Nurse in medical-surgical and orthopedic care, and she now serves as a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner with Baptist Health Walker Hospital. Her diverse experience allows her to confidently treat everything from minor illnesses and injuries to chronic condition management and preventive care.
