I know that can feel confusing, especially when fiber is often the first thing people are told to add when digestion feels off.

Here’s what I see often. Someone is bloated, constipated, or uncomfortable, so they start adding more fiber. And instead of feeling better, they feel heavier, more gassy, or even more backed up.

That doesn’t mean fiber is bad.
It means timing matters.

If digestion, motility, bile flow, or the nervous system aren’t supported first, adding more fiber can overwhelm a gut that’s already struggling.
