Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home

Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Family owned and operated since 1933. We have seven NC Certified Funeral Professionals to answer any Mrs.

Joe and Flossie Jernigan founded Jernigan Funeral Home in Dunn, North Carolina, in 1930. Two years later they moved their business to the 500 Block of Hay Street in Fayetteville, and then to 206 Gillespie Street, where the business remained until 1958, when the present Funeral Home was built at its location on Ramsey Street. This building was renovated in the early 1970s, creating larger visitatio

n rooms and additional offices. In 1946, Charles Warren, Joe and Flossie Jernigan's nephew, purchased a one-third interest in the business, and upon Joe Jernigan's retirement in 1952, Charles Warren and Flossie Jernigan became co-owners. Jernigan passed away in 1989, and Charles Warren became sole owner.

"Veteran" is a term that has been in use since the early 16th century to describe a person who has extensive experience in a particular area. To us, "Veteran" describes a modern-day hero. We love working with Vets and their families to make sure these heroes get the recognition they deserve.

At a Veterans funeral, you are likely to witness several ceremonial actions such as the folding and presentation of the casket flag, the playing of Taps, and more. These meaningful rituals are part of what are called the Military Funeral Honors. All honorably discharged Veterans are eligible for them, but they must be requested formally by the family. We are here to help make sure every Veteran receives these important honors. Contact us today to learn how we can help Veterans receive the honor they deserve.
