A new manuscript has been accepted for publication in Lab on a Chip! Link to coming soon...

This study validates our nasal airway platform (AirLOC) for:
💡 studying how airborne pollutants interact with our bodies.
🧪 controlled particulate matter exposure and the study of biological responses of the human nasal epithelium.

This demonstrates our technologies’ ability to model real-world inhalation events in a precise, human-relevant in vitro system; a critical element of toxicology and environmental health research performed at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), FDA’s National Center for Toxicological Research, and many others.

We’re proud to contribute to both peer-reviewed science and the future of ethical, human-relevant innovation in biotech.

Rare Disease Day was this weekend.

Rare diseases may affect smaller populations, but for those living with them, they're anything but small.

At Humimic Biosystems, we're inspired and motivated by the of millions of patients waiting for better treatments. Our organ-on-chip technology helps model human biology with greater precision, creating new pathways to study rare diseases faster, more ethically, and with more relevant human data.

A new manuscript has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Biomedical Materials Research: Part A.

This paper characterizes a novel material, pz-PDMS™, that can:
💡 measure how heart cells beat in Humimic’s organ models, helping us determine how the human body will respond to new treatments.
🧪 noninvasively quantify the contractile strength of cardiomyocytes, enabling real-time assessment of drug responses in vitro.

This type of research forms the scientific foundation of Humimic’s CoCo Chip™ (a heart-on-chip platform), advancing our mission to replace outdated animal models with smarter, human-relevant platforms that accelerate drug discovery.

We’re proud to see our work contributing to both academic knowledge and the future of biotech innovation.

Still feeling so grateful and fired up after an incredible weekend at the Rice Business Plan Competition — the Super Bowl of entrepreneurship!

We had the chance to pitch, learn, get feedback from some of the best in the industry, and connect with so many inspiring founders and investors. It’s wild to think about how far we’ve come — and exciting to think about what’s next as we keep working to change the game in preclinical drug development.

Biggest thanks to our advisors David Hinton and Phil Shellhamer for always believing in us and pushing us to be our best. And to the University of Arkansas Office of Entrepreneurship & Innovation for supporting us every step of the way.

Thank you to the entire RBPC team and all the judges for creating such an unforgettable experience. Definitely a weekend we won’t forget!
