Tennessee Onions Recipe
Ingredients:
3-4 sweet onions
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, sliced thin
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded Italian blend cheese or shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings, about 1/4-inch thick. Separate the rings.
Lay the onion rings evenly in the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the onions.
Place the thin slices of butter evenly over the onions.
Spread the shredded cheddar cheese over the onions, followed by the Italian blend cheese or mozzarella, and then the parmesan cheese.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
Serve the dish warm.
