ArKIDS The ArKIDS lab conducts research among youth (8-17 years). Learn more about participating in our studies to help other kids with stress and anxiety!

At the ArKIDS Laboratory, we are interested in understanding the development of difficulties related to stress and anxiety in children and adolescents (ages 8-17 years old). The majority of our research studies work to increase our understanding of anxiety and traumatic event exposure. We measure individual difference factors (anxiety sensitivity, emotion regulation) and how they change across development and interact with environment (traumatic events, parenting). Through our increased understanding of stress and anxiety, we hope to improve resources and interventions for other children and adolescents suffering from these problems. The ArKIDS Lab is dedicated to improving information and services for stress and anxiety in the Northwest Arkansas Community!

The study is funded by the National Science Foundation, and it is concerned with learning about adolescent communication. You and your child will also be trained in communication techniques and asked to practice these techniques between sessions.
