At our core, trauma and dissociation specialized practice is about giving voice back to what was silenced — pain, parts, stories, identities, and truths that were never safe to speak before.
Today, on this National Day of Service, we’re reminded that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in community and connection, in action, and in choosing—again and again—to show up for what matters.
✨ Service can look like:
• Advocating for human rights and mental health access
• Supporting marginalized and underserved communities
• Volunteering locally or donating to organizations doing the work
• Checking in on someone who may be struggling
• Using your voice when silence feels easier
For those of us living with trauma, speaking up can feel risky. And yet, every small act of courage, connection, and care matters. Collective healing is built through collective action.
Today, we invite you to do one thing — big or small — in service of compassion, justice, and healing. Because caring is not passive. Healing is not neutral. And your voice matters.
🩵 Therapy is Cool.
🩵 Community care is powerful.
🩵 And service is one of the ways we keep hope alive.

New blog! But also a content advisory if you're planning to watch the show for reference. The blog is centered around the outcomes from working as a team (or plural system). Please take care of yourself if you choose to watch the actual show. SEAL Team on Paramount, includes combat, trauma, moral injury, and mental health challenges in true to life fashions. Please use discretion, especially for those sensitive to discussions of violence, PTSD, or military-related stress.

Today on Human Rights Day, we honor the truth that dignity, safety, and belonging are universal rights — not privileges. For many, especially those living at the intersections of marginalized identities, these rights are still fought for daily.
We stand firmly with survivors, with LGBTQ+ communities, with BIPOC individuals, and with all people whose humanity has been ignored, questioned, or harmed by systems of oppression. Your identity, your story, and your healing matter.
As a trauma-focused, LGBTQ-allied, and culturally responsive practice, we reaffirm our commitment to:
✨ Providing affirming, identity-centered mental health care
✨ Supporting and uplifting BIPOC clients whose resilience is often demanded, not acknowledged
✨ Protecting safe, inclusive therapeutic spaces for all bodies, genders, cultures, and lived experiences
✨ Centering survivor autonomy, agency, and voice
✨ Challenging racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and all forms of systemic harm
✨ Advocating for a world where safety, identity, and self-expression are respected — never debated
Healing is a human right.
Safety is a human right.
Cultural identity is a human right.
Authenticity is a human right.
Love is a human right.
Today and every day, we walk alongside you — honoring your truth, protecting your dignity, and supporting your healing journey with compassion and respect. 💛🏳️🌈✊🏽

Pop culture helps us understand the world around us. Here's a new blog about how 90's HipHop helped create the HST of today. Take away: adversity can be an opportunity.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.
We know that suicidal thoughts often grow out of deep pain, trauma, and feelings of isolation. We also know that healing is possible, connection matters, and no one has to carry their struggles alone.
This year’s theme, “Creating Hope Through Action,” reminds us that every small step — reaching out to a friend, checking in with a loved one, or seeking support from a professional — can make a difference.
If you are struggling, please know: your life matters, your story matters, and you are not alone. 🩵
📞 If you or someone you love is in crisis, dial 988 (Su***de & Crisis Lifeline) for immediate support.
Together, we can build a world where hope feels possible. 🌱

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (NC #10893) with a Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I have experience in community mental health, college counseling, and private practice. My specialty areas include anxiety disorders, dissociative disorders, panic disorders, trauma, and depression.
I offer both short and long-term therapy and use a confidential, practical, and positive approach with adults dealing with issues such as:
Feeling stressed and overwhelmed
Dissociation
Depression and anxiety
Sexual assault/Domestic violence
Trauma/Abuse
My counseling approach is eclectic, systemic, holistic and humanistic. As a mindfulness-based, existentialist therapist, my goal is to provide the means and the guidance to support you in finding the internal and external resources to create the life you desire. Our work may focus on changing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as well as taking a developmental look at where problems may have originated. Together, in a collaborative process, we will develop goals and interventions that are tailored to your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
