Our subacute GROW (Gain, Reach, Obtain, Work) program did an activity called The Elf & Me. This activity helped participants identify their inner "Elf" (impulsive/emotional self) and practice leading it with wise, healthy decisions.

Participants focused on identifying impulsive thoughts and behaviors using the metaphor of an inner elf. They created an elf representing their emotional or impulsive self and practiced identifying boundaries, self-talk and coping strategies to guide decision-making.
