Lacey's Lathers will be there on Sunday! We are coming back after a 10 year break! With a selection of soaps and lotion bars and my daughters will have lipbalms and squirrel feeders!

Southwest Tech Goat Management Academy is on Friday November 1st!

We are accepting walk-ins!!

Some notes for walk-in students-

We will have breakfast refreshments and a chicken Alfredo lunch for all students.

If you plan to attend the Famancha training please wear close toed shoes.

Our round table event will allow for networking with other producers and asking questions with industry experts. So please come prepared with goat questions!

Southwest Tech will be offering a Famancha Certification course at our 2024 Goat Management Academy on November 1st.

Famancha training utilizes an eyelid scoring system to help small ruminant producers (goat producers) manage parasites. This 2 hour training will be Friday morning and will include practice on live goats! Our instructor is Kim Kester.

Kim Kester is the UW-Madison Extension Regional Livestock Educator for Grant, Green, Iowa, and Lafayette Counties. Her programs focus on beef cattle genetic development, livestock climate resilience, and small ruminant management.

A great time was had by all at the Belmont fair!! James and Hope showed the Grand and Reserve champion dairy goats, Ella won the 9-12 year old showmanship with Faith right on her heels, and the younger 3 managed to hold on to thier goats in the ring!!! Thank you to Thomas Fencing for buying James's cheese basket and to all the volunteers for putting on another great fair!

On the ride home the kids were saying how it would be so nice not to practice showmanship every night and they must have forgot because Ella was judging a class before night chores were done!!

Our first fall litter! These boys and girls will be ready for pickup beginning to mid October they are well handled and loved. There are 3 chocolate boys and 1 black boy and one chocolate girl and 1 black girl.

We have a few to many goats as we wrap up show season. If anyone is looking to fill a pasture or add to your herd or start a herd let me know!
