We have not said much to the public regarding the recent shift and turbulance in the Health Insurance industry.
Last year, most carriers notified us that they would no longer pay commissions on Part D (prescription drug plans) and then came the hit on Medicare Advatage plans. Most recently, the ACA took a punch regarding subsidies that were offered to those individuals who work for employers who are not required to offer health plans, or individuals who work part time and do not qualify for employer funded plans. The subsidies shifted to a devistating “cliff” which altered the true “affordability” of health insurance for the working class american.
Next week the government will vote on a revision to the brutal halt of recent subsidies and commissions.
As you know, it takes money to operate, and if things do not start turning, we(health insurance agents) will become extremely limited in what we can offer. We want to ask that you pray for our business, careers, and for the people we love to serve. Pray that awareness to the severity of these changes is reconsidered and that the American people can continue to obtain the healthcare coverage and assistance they need.
