Meet MAPS new doctor!
Greetings! My name is Dr. Jalesa Johnson, and I am thankful to be part of the MAPS team in Amelia Island. I hold a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Psychology and a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology at Washington DC. My educational and field experience included assignments at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Washington DC and the ·Federal Medical Center in Rochester, with a concentration on forensics, psychological evaluations, and treatment of diverse populations including military members, civilians, inmates, and children. I specialize in treating schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorders, and personality disorders. I also treat individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder. In addition to psychotherapy, I will be conducting neuropsychological assessments at MAPS.
I am a strong believer in client centered therapy and teamwork. I will be right by your side on your journey to becoming the person you were always meant to be. Remember, your journey is not like any others, and this moment when you are reading this profile is where yours begins.
While I enjoy creating and embarking on diverse therapeutic journeys with each of my clients, I also enjoy diversifying my time outside of work. Spending time at the beach is one of my favorite things to do in addition to bowling, going to the movies, traveling, attending carnivals/fairs/festivals, and crocheting.
I look forward to working with you soon!
