Most mornings, before I dive into coaching calls or writing, I light a candle. I take three slow breaths. Shoulders relax, jaw softens, mind drops in. Then I say, “I’m here to do one thing well.”

That tiny moment—just 90 seconds—signals to my brain: it’s time to shift gears.

I’ve taught this to PGA pros, Olympians, CEOs, and even my son when he was learning to manage pressure at the club. The ritual doesn’t have to be complicated. It just needs to be consistent.

Because here’s the truth: focus isn’t a mood. It’s a muscle—and rituals train it.

Heading home from a warm, dusty, soul-full few days in San Antonio at the National Shooting Complex 🤍

Friday’s Intermediate Lady Shooting Event was incredible — huge shoutout to Anne Mauro for coordinating such a beautiful program. I had the honor of being the guest speaker while the ladies also experienced gun fittings with Rich Cole and instruction from some amazing women in the sport.

The high I get when I see people smiling, nodding, feeling seen — when they realize they can actually change their mind, their focus, their life — that’s everything to me.

It’s euphoric. It’s purpose.
It’s the reminder that I’m living my dream…

And it’s all because of you — the people who keep saying yes to transformation, who share my work with your friends and family, who bring me in to speak to your groups and teams. Every time one person learns to release stress, find peace, and perform at their best, it ripples out.

One calm, confident, fulfilled human changes families.
Families change communities.
Communities change the world.

I was on a plane yesterday — headed to the Ladies Intermediate Sporting Clays Experience — and I can’t help but smile.

Okay but can we talk about how my dog has mastered the art of presence? 🐾
I’m over here “trying to relax” (with 3 tabs open on my laptop, of course)… and Grace is in full Zen Master mode — stretched out, soft sighs, not a care in the world.

Meanwhile, my brain: Should I be doing something?
Her brain: I already am. I’m being.

Here’s your gentle reminder — relaxation isn’t laziness, it’s leadership of your nervous system.
It’s how we reset our focus, open creativity, and actually hear our intuition again.

So yes, this is your permission to close the laptop, take a long breath, and just… be.

As a Mental Trainer & Hypnotist, I have found great avenues to reach out & assist others in experiencing greater health & wellness, peak performance, inner peace, tremendous joy & ultimately unlimited love. After earning a Bachelors in Psychology from Westfield State College my journey led me to Amelia Island, Florida. In the first few years of my profession, I recognized a strong desire to help people make more profound changes. So, in 2001, I acquired professional training in hypnosis at Omni Hypnosis Training Center. Enabling me to be a Board Certified Hypnotist, recognized by the National Board of Hypnosis Education and Certification and accredited by the National Guild of Hypnotists as a Certified Hypnotherapist. I have also received advanced training as a Certified Forensic Hypnotist.
