The Days of Giving Donation Center is almost here — tomorrow we open our doors as your one-stop drop-off location to help families, individuals, and pets in need this season.

We’re partnering with incredible local nonprofits including Miracle Food Network, Cascade Connections, Whatcom Humane Society, Ferndale Community Services, and several food banks and community service organizations across Whatcom County to make sure your donations reach those who need them most.

• Pet food & pet care supplies
• Diapers & baby wipes
• Hats, coats, & gloves
• Toilet paper & toiletries
• Feminine hygiene products
• Household essentials & cleaning supplies

We would like thank to everyone for your incredible generosity! While the government shut down may be over, we will continue to accept donations of pantry staples, grocery gift cards, and Visa gift cards through the end of November. Next drop off dates: Wednesday (11/12) and Friday (11/14) from 9am-3pm.

We’d especially like to thank CTK Bellingham! They have guaranteed that our most financially vulnerable clients will be able to purchase groceries until their benefits have been completely restored.

Any additional fund received during this time will allow us to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for clients who don't have family to celebrate with this holiday season.

Here's another way to support Cascade Connections and other great local nonprofits!! Huge thanks to Ferndale Events Center for coordinating such an awesome opportunity!!

As many of us have seen, our neighbors are struggling in ways they never have before. Some families are having to decide between buying groceries and purchasing pet food or basic household essentials. It’s heartbreaking — and I know so many of us want to help, but don’t always know where to start.
So, with the support of some truly incredible friends, we’ll be hosting a two-day “Days of Giving” Donation Center at the Ferndale Events Center The goal is simple: one place where the community can bring what they can, to support those that need it.
Food • Pet Supplies • Hygiene Items • Winter Gear • Household Basics — anything that helps lighten the load.
We want to make this as impactful and inclusive as possible.
If you are part of a non-profit organization (or know one that should be involved), please reach out.
The more hands and hearts working together, the more families we can support. ❤️

Last week our Vocational Services Department welcomed local employers to chat about the benefits of supported employment at Neighbor Night Larrabee Lager Company Lager Co. During Neighbor Night, we also took the opportunity to honor our latest Employer of the Quarter, Domino's Ferndale. Everyone gathered to watch a short film about Kaley, an employee at Domino's who receives vocational support from Cascade Connections. We also heard from Jerad FIT EVO - Fitness Evolution Bellingham and Bill from Trail Boss about their experience with supported employment!

Congratulations to Domino's Ferndale and thank you to everyone who joined us last week to learn more about our Vocational Services program.

Reminder! We are accepting donations for our emergency pantry today (11/5) and Friday (11/7) at our Ferndale Office: 1354 Pacific Pl, Suite 101 - Ferndale, WA

We are accepting non-perishable pantry staples such beans, rice, pasta, oats, canned foods, etc.
We are also accepting donations of Visa gift cards or gift cards to local grocery stores.

We have been touched by the outpouring of support we have received from our community - THANK YOU!

Cascade Connections supports 350 people with disabilities in Whatcom County, most of whom rely on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funding to supplement their weekly grocery expenses. Help us ensure their pantries and refrigerators are stocked by:

1. Donate directly to Cascade Connections via our website or Venmo
2. Donate Visa or Grocery Gift Cards
3. Donate non-perishable grocery staples to our Emergency Pantry

Randy's friends and staff recently gathered at our Ferndale office to celebrate his birthday. The party included a slideshow celebrating highlights from Randy's years with Cascade Connections, a delicious Dolly Parton themed cake, presents, a rousing game of "pin the tale on the dinosaur" and a great track list!

A few weeks ago we gathered at Pioneer Pavilion in Ferndale for our Annual Stakeholder Meeting! This special celebration honored our history - 45 years - of service in Whatcom County! Allison, our Executive Director, reminded us that at its heart, our organization is not only about serving people with developmental disabilities—it’s about building a true community. And in every strong community, there is one simple truth: we are neighbors.

We are grateful to all community members, organizations and businesses who have helped us realize our mission over the years!

Our Stakeholder Meeting featured delicious ice cream donated from Edaleen Dairy and pies and dessert from Rustlers Front Street Grill, Rusty Wagon, and Rome Grocery! The beautiful fall centerpieces were generously donated by Van Wingerden Home & Garden!

We could not do the work we do without the support of our friends and neighbors - Thank you!

One of the best parts of our job is helping our clients celebrate special moments. Heather recently made a big move to a new house after living in the same apartment for years. She reframed this exciting development as her "graduation".

To honor her graduation, the Bellingham Supported Living Team coordinated a graduation ceremony for her, allowing her to commemorate this special and exciting move on her own terms!
