Trinity Medical's Outpatient Rehab provides Occupational Therapy to help restore abilities to perform basic activities of daily living (ADLs), also called self-care activities. Being able to complete these ADLs successfully allows seniors to remain as independent as possible, hopefully getting them back to their pre-illness or pre-injury lifestyle.

Some of the activities of daily living occupational therapy helps improve or restore include:

Eating and feeding oneself
Bathing and showering
Mobility – getting up and down, moving around while performing activities
Personal hygiene/grooming – brushing teeth, washing and combing hair, etc.
Toileting
More complex daily activities like cooking, writing, cleaning, etc.

🌟 Congratulations to our 4th Quarter DAISY nominees who were recognized for receiving a DAISY Award nomination from a patient they cared for or by a coworker who witnessed the care they provided. 🌟

These nurses will be eligible to win the DAISY Honoree Award at the end of this year. The DAISY Foundation was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at age 33 due to complications from an autoimmune disease. The nursing care Patrick received profoundly touched his family, and they wanted to say “thank you” to nurses everywhere by establishing a recognition program. We are proud to be a partner with the DAISY Foundation.

These nominations are a true reflection of the compassion, dedication, and exceptional care our nurses provide every single day. Being recognized by the people they care for means the world — and we couldn’t be prouder!
