A few hours out of our Saturday, and we have 15 jars of relish from the cucumbers we grew in our garden and sourdough for the next 2 weeks.

The relish will definitely last the next year or so and make for some great gifts. When we can or preserve, we make enough to give away to family and friends. Because let's be honest, who is going to go through 15 jars of relish in a season? Lol

Sourdough is a weekly task, but I've been making 3 loaves and freezing them (one loaf still in the oven) Freezing bread is a great way to get a head of your weekly use so you dont have to spend 2 days each week. It really doesn't take much more time to do multiple loaves vs. one.

Growing our own food, preserving it, and enjoying it helps us connect to a holistic way of life. We spend time outside, getting soil on our hands, grounding, breathing fresh air, and soaking up sunlight.

Making as much of our own food as possible ensures we fuel our bodies with nutritious, non-toxic, pesticide, preservative, and dye free foods.

It's the small and easy things that can be done each day to live a holistic lifestyle ✨️

Our first weekend enjoying the river, woods and nature!

It felt so good to get away from city lights, traffic, and noise. To breathe fresh (yet still humid) air, play in the refreshing cool of the river during the first streak of hot weather, and spend all 4 days outside was the reset we needed.

👣Walking barefoot on the cool forest bottom- grounding and resting our energy.

🌞Soaking up the morning sun- starting our day by recharging with Vitamin D.

🏞 Cooling off in the cold water of rapids- releasing dopamine, boosting our mood and setting up for a great night sleep.

🌟 Star gazing at night- staying off our phones, getting our brains and bodies primed for melatonin release and getting the best sleep.

Camping and being in nature helps us relax, recharge, reset and optimize ourselves.

The benefits of being outside are endless🌲🌳🌞

There is so much to be thankful for this week!
I've made so many steps forward in my health journey post partum, and each day just gets easier and better.

I have made time for me to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, read a book, or listen to a podcast in peace. It's rained so much this week that I've been given the time to do a bit less. 🙃 ☕️📚🌧

I said HELL YES to my cousin and helping make her special day spectacular 👰💒

I've hit post pregnancy PRs!🏋🏼‍♀️💪🏼

Baby girl and I have made time to walk and be outside (when it hasn't rained) and get our steps in while being in nature. We've also started a walking club to go along with the 2-month fitness challenge we started this week!🚶🏼‍♀️👶🏼❤️

Holistic health is about doing what you CAN within the 7 pillars. Focus on what you CAN do NOW and work towards trying new and harder things!

🌬Breath/ air - get outside for a few minutes at the very least. Practice breathing exercises as simple as focusing on the inhale and exhale at the nose.

🌞Sunlight - Get at least 15 minutes of sunlight on your face/skin

🚶🏼‍♀️Movement - Move your body! Do it outside in the sun to manage 3 pillars at once!!

💦Hydration - drink MORE water. Idealying half your body weight in ounces, but even swapping one non water drink like pop or sweet tea for water is an improvement.

🍓Nutrition - Eat whole foods and a balanced diet. Get as many colors on your plate. Swap out a processed meal for something made at home.

💤Sleep - Practice good sleep hygiene by keeping the room cool, washing sheets regularly, having a nice bedtime routine, and getting 7-8 hours of sleep at night.

🕉🧘🏼‍♀️Spirituality- Practice mindfulness by being aware of the sounds you hear. Practice meditation by sitting still and quiet for 3-5 mins while you focus on your breath. Make space for journaling, praying or your chosen beliefs/religion. Mentally or physically, list out 5 things that made you smile or thankful today.

These small actions can fit into anyone's day seamlessly and will make a huge impact.

I encourage you to try the LHW free 7 Day Guide to Holistic Wellness Challenge. Check out the website in the bio to access the challenge!

Holistic wellness isn't linear. 2024 was a year of challenges, changes, and growth. My fitness looked WAY different this year than ever before.

I had to prioritize rest, gentle movement, and LESS.
I had to step away from so many things that were a huge part of my wellness routine; sauna, ice bath, HIIT, weight lifting (that I was used to) and multiple workouts in a day.

Pregnancy changed how I saw my fitness. My focus wasn't on strength gains, physique goals, or optimizing stats. It was about providing the best environment to grow a healthy baby.
I kept my focus on rest, gentle exercises when I felt up to it, and proper nutrition and hydration.

Rewind to January 2024- I overhauled my health for the goal of getting pregnant.
I changed my diet, added new therapies like acupuncture, and put in extra work in the gym.

3 months. That's all it took.

PCOS isn't a life sentence. And I can show you how to reduce symptoms and reach your goals.

Stay tuned because LHW is launching something HUGE this summer!

Mindfulness isn’t about clearing your mind—it’s about connecting to the present moment. By focusing on your breath, observing your surroundings, and letting go of judgment, you create space for peace and clarity.
