A few hours out of our Saturday, and we have 15 jars of relish from the cucumbers we grew in our garden and sourdough for the next 2 weeks.
The relish will definitely last the next year or so and make for some great gifts. When we can or preserve, we make enough to give away to family and friends. Because let's be honest, who is going to go through 15 jars of relish in a season? Lol
Sourdough is a weekly task, but I've been making 3 loaves and freezing them (one loaf still in the oven) Freezing bread is a great way to get a head of your weekly use so you dont have to spend 2 days each week. It really doesn't take much more time to do multiple loaves vs. one.
Growing our own food, preserving it, and enjoying it helps us connect to a holistic way of life. We spend time outside, getting soil on our hands, grounding, breathing fresh air, and soaking up sunlight.
Making as much of our own food as possible ensures we fuel our bodies with nutritious, non-toxic, pesticide, preservative, and dye free foods.
It's the small and easy things that can be done each day to live a holistic lifestyle ✨️
