Do you keep an emergency kit in your vehicle? Everyone's definition of "emergency" is different. Do you need vehicle repair items? First aid? Survival items? AAA Findlay Automobile Club has a good starter kit - but we would add a few health related items!

Many (but not all) First Aid and CPR techniques can be modified for use on pets - if you happen to be the first responder, and/or until you can get the creature to a veterinarian.

At a minimum, a low-risk workplace (like a small office) should have a first-aid box and a person appointed to take charge. That staff member would be in charge of calling emergency services, if necessary. Employers must provide information about first-aid arrangements to their employees.
