Opioid overdoses affect families and communities everywhere -- including ours. The good news is that overdoses are preventable, and recovery is possible.

✅Know the signs: slow or stopped breathing, blue lips or fingertips, unresponsiveness.
✅Carry naloxone (Narcan): it can reverse an overdose and save a life.
✅Reach out for help: treatment and supportive services are available - no one has to face addiction alone.

Together, we can reduce stigma, spread hope, and save lives. If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for support.

Stress looks different for kids — sometimes it’s tears, silence, or acting out. 💭

Remind them: “It’s okay to feel this way.” Then help them name their feelings and find healthy ways to cope. 💛

Some strategies to try:

Take slow, deep breaths together 🌬️
Go for a short walk or get outside for fresh air 🌳
Draw, journal, or listen to calming music 🎨🎵
Break tasks into smaller steps to make them more manageable ✅
Teaching children to recognize and manage stress early helps them build resilience and confidence for the future.

Bigger, Stronger, Cheaper: The e-cig market continues to evolve, along with policy needs to regulate flavors and retail sales.

Steele County Public Health works consistently and diligently with other Public Health partners to "get ahead" of Big To***co to create policies that will keep our residents safe.

How can you help? Stay informed. Talk to your kids about sneaky marketing. Write a letter to your representatives. IT ALL MATTERS.
