Don't be fooled by these 3 fitness myths:

❌Sit-ups = a six-pack.
✅Only nutrition and overall strength training do.

❌Carbs are your enemy.
✅Our bodies need them for energy and performance.

❌You can use specific exercises to lose fat in targeted areas of your body.
✅You can’t choose where you lose fat first, because fat loss is controlled by your genetics and hormones, not by the specific exercises you do.

When you’re in a calorie deficit (burning more energy than you consume), your body decides which fat stores to use for energy, and that process happens systemically, not locally.

Doing 100 crunches won’t melt belly fat, just like doing tricep dips won’t specifically burn arm fat.

Let's learn her story...

Q: How did you get started in fitness?

A: I’ve been into fitness most of my life. I’ve taught dance aerobics, kickboxing, step aerobics classes, group HITT exercise classes, but my favorite is one-on-one strength training.💪

Q: What's your go-to high-protein snack?

A: My favorite high-protein snack would be non-fat Greek yogurt with plain Kiefer, powdered peanut butter, a tablespoon of nut butter, and 1/2 scoop of chocolate protein powder. Let me know if you try the recipe!

Q: What's your favorite high-protein meal?

A: It would have to be BBQ salmon, sweet potatoes, broccoli, and chickpea salad.

Q: How do you get through a tough workout?

A: Nothing feels better than pushing yourself to the next level; it’s just a mindset!🧠

Q: What are you doing when not at IF?

A: My favorite thing outside of the gym is traveling in my sprinter van with my husband and two huskies, hiking, and exploring the outdoors.❤️

Q: What do you wish everyone knew about fitness?

A: Fitness is the longevity of life! It’s never too late to start. You can build strength and muscle at any age! Know your limits and remember to move and stay strong!!
