So for the past few weeks we’ve been navigating a bit of a curveball with our upgrade plans at The Game Barn Retreat. Despite best efforts, we’ve had to reshuffle timelines and bring part of next year’s vision forward.

The skatepark is officially on pause for now while we work through the logistics - but the good news? Construction is already underway on the Cowboy Pool 👀

This is an amenity many of our guests have asked for, and we’re very excited about it.

Happy New Year!!! We had a very busy Christmas and New Year ending in monthly owner reports and a Quarterly hotel tax return to submit so today is our rest day and what better way to do that than a big fat BBQ at Grind & Gather, (yes the Game Barn Retreat has a new name) where we’re doing some upgrades ready for 2026. We’re loving that the cooler stand is still working well (Tom built it to self close)

Coffee station upgrade and new local coffee supplier found I think this is the largest bag of coffee beans I’ve ever bought, anyone who knows me knows I run on coffee, but research is important I’m doing y’all a favour really 😂

Bluebonnet Coffee Co. roasts their beans just minutes from the house in all its small batch goodness, we chose Big Woods Bold as the Grind & Gather blend and omg soooo good 😋

In other news we’ve had a frustrating couple of weeks at Grind & Gather with the insurance company pulling out at the last minute, we won’t be beaten we just taking a bit longer to sort out before construction can begin.

Sweetwood & Cinnamon is now live and the first guests arrived today 🎉
