💙 A Taste of Greece in Cincinnati! 💙🇬🇷

AHEPA 127 II Apartments in Cincinnati hosted a vibrant “Taste of Greece” celebration that transformed the community room into a Mediterranean gathering space. Decorated in classic blue and white with lemon trees, vine-wrapped pillars, and Greek statues, every detail helped bring the theme to life.

We were honored to welcome local board members Steve Bottomley (President), Nicholas Sarakatsannis (VP), Angelo Kostarides (Treasurer), James Gelis, and James Williams, who went above and beyond — picking up the food, serving residents, and sharing a brief history of AHEPA to open the event.

Residents were greeted with freshly made Greek coffee and enjoyed a delicious menu featuring feta, dolmas, olives, spanakopita, pastitsio, roasted chicken, Greek-style green beans, roasted potatoes, Greek wine, and a crowd-favorite homemade baklava lovingly prepared by a board member’s wife. 🍽️

The celebration concluded with lively Greek dancing around the tables — a joyful and unforgettable finish!

The celebration was made possible by AHEPA Senior Living’s Giving Tuesday campaign. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated local board for bringing culture, fellowship, and connection to life.

Love was truly in the air across AHEPA Senior Living communities this Valentine’s Day! From music and sweet treats to fellowship and festive décor, our residents came together to celebrate connection, joy, and community.

🎶 Ankeny, Iowa – AHEPA 192 II & III
Residents enjoyed a lively Valentine’s Music Bingo event — listening intently, shouting out song guesses, and playing two games in one. It was competitive, engaging, and filled with laughter!

🍌🍨 Houston, Texas – AHEPA 29 I & II
Residents were treated to individual banana splits and cupcakes at their Valentine’s Party. Who doesn’t love ice cream? 😊 A sweet success!

❤️ Greenville, South Carolina – AHEPA 242
Love was in action as the team from Love Story Church served residents a special Valentine’s Day lunch. A heartfelt thank you for spreading kindness and care.

🎵 Hoover, Alabama – AHEPA Penelope District One
Residents had a blast at a Valentine’s exchange luncheon featuring live music from the Basement Band of Birmingham. The love-filled celebration — already booked again — was made possible through AHEPA Senior Living’s Giving Tuesday campaign.

💖 Toledo, Ohio – AHEPA Senior Living of Toledo
The community room was transformed into a warm, heart-themed gathering space complete with cozy décor and fairy lights. Residents enjoyed a delicious brunch!

🎭🥞 It’s Fat Tuesday at AHEPA Senior Living! 🥞🎭

We don’t miss a beat when it comes to celebrating together! This morning, residents at AHEPA 310 IV Apartments in Saraland, Alabama marked Fat Tuesday with a delicious Mardi Gras homemade breakfast prepared by our team.

The menu featured fluffy buttermilk pancakes, savory sausage, and sweet, juicy peach slices — a perfect way to start the day. 🍑

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our board members and to our Giving Tuesday gift card campaign, which has allowed our community to enjoy several wonderful meals together.

The spirit of togetherness and gratitude continues to thrive among our residents! 💜

📖 Black History Month at AHEPA 127 II – Cincinnati 📖

In recognition of Black History Month, AHEPA 127 II hosted a special educational presentation sponsored by Creative Aging Cincinnati titled “The Black Experience in 19th Century Cincinnati.”

The program was led by historian David Savage of the Cincinnati Museum Center, who shared a rich and engaging overview of African American life in Cincinnati during the 1800s. Through historical slides and detailed narratives, residents learned about the challenges, resilience, and lasting contributions of Black Americans who helped shape the city’s history.

Many residents, having been born and raised in Cincinnati, felt a personal connection to the stories shared. We are grateful for the opportunity to commemorate Black History Month in such a meaningful and impactful way.
