✂️🎉 We’re officially open in South Bend!

We were proud to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of AHEPA 100 Phase II Apartments—bringing 72 new affordable homes to older adults in the community. This milestone reflects our continued commitment to providing safe, dignified housing where residents can thrive.

Demand for affordable senior housing remains high as this new community is already at full occupancy.

🥗💙 Be Well, Live Well in Houston! 💙🥗

A new nutrition series is underway at our AHEPA 29 Apartments campus in Houston, helping residents take steps toward healthier living.

Led by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Community Health Worker Gabby Kanu, the kickoff session focused on healthy eating habits and practical tips residents can incorporate into their daily routines.

Residents are already looking forward to upcoming sessions — including healthy cooking demonstrations! 🍳

A great start to a program that supports wellness, education, and lasting lifestyle habits.

🌡️🎓 Extreme Heat Preparedness in Des Moines 🎓🌡️

Residents at AHEPA 192 Phase IV in Des Moines, Iowa recently welcomed Meteorology students from Iowa State University for an engaging presentation on Extreme Heat Preparedness.

Students shared practical tips to help residents stay safe during periods of high temperatures — providing timely and valuable guidance.

Following the presentation, residents enjoyed connecting with the students, reminiscing about their own time at Iowa State and sharing stories about how campus life has changed over the years.

🍦⚠️ Emergency Preparedness in Houston ⚠️🍦

Residents at AHEPA 29 Phases I–III Apartments in Houston gathered for an informative Emergency Preparedness presentation — paired with a fun ice cream social!

Daisy Campos from the Harris County Office of Emergency Management provided valuable resources and shared preparedness tips for hurricane season and inclement weather. Informational brochures were available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Chinese to ensure accessibility for all residents.
With a great turnout, residents left better prepared — and more connected — for the season ahead. 💙

🌍💙 World Health Day at AHEPA Senior Living 💙🌍

On World Health Day, we’re proud to highlight how our communities continue to promote health, wellness, and informed living for our residents.

Here are just a couple of recent examples:

🩺 Albuquerque, New Mexico – AHEPA 501 Phases I & II
Residents participated in a Diabetes Education session led by Sophie Rouge from the New Mexico Department of Health. Residents received helpful tools — including pill holders, compression socks, and measuring cups — along with valuable guidance on managing sugar levels, all while enjoying fresh fruit, vegetables, and water.

❤️ Waterford, Connecticut – AHEPA 250 Phase II
Residents took part in a fun and engaging Heart Health Bingo hosted by a community nurse from Hartford HealthCare. The event combined education with activity and featured exciting giveaways such as backpacks, notebooks, shirts, and blood pressure cuffs.
