Day two at the KNOW Summit 2026 has not disappointed! It has been an amazing experience so far connecting with these powerhouse women, both professionally and personally. I have been blown away not only about stories of success, but more importantly struggle, resilience, and encouragement. It’s amazing to be in a room full of women who give back to their community so much and have made it a priority to lift up other woman business leaders to have the same opportunities. Can’t wait to see what this day brings!

That " drowning" feeling is real, but you don't have to swim alone.

Oftentimes the most productive thing you can do is wave the white flag and let someone help you find your shore. Whether it’s a body double, a friend, or a professional—asking for help isn't a failure, it's a lifeline.

Does the humming of the refrigerator suddenly feel unbearable? Are bright lights causing physical discomfort, or are you finding yourself intensely irritated by textures that never bothered you before?

If you're navigating perimenopause with ADHD, you might be experiencing a significant spike in sensory overload. This isn't just "stress"; it's biochemistry.

The Deep Dive: Research suggests that estrogen plays a critical role in regulating neurotransmitters like GABA, which acts as the brain's "brakes," helping us filter out irrelevant sensory information. During perimenopause, as estrogen levels fluctuate and decline, this filtering system can become compromised. The result is a more reactive amygdala (the brain's emotional and threat processing center), lowering your threshold for sensory input and leading to that intense feeling of overwhelm.

It's not about being "too sensitive"—it's about understanding how your changing hormones are interacting with your neurobiology.

What Can You Do?

Acknowledge and Validate: Recognize that this sensory sensitivity is a real physiological response, not a personal failing.

Audit Your Environment: Proactively manage sensory input. Use noise-cancelling headphones, adjust lighting, and opt for comfortable, non-irritating clothing.

Schedule Sensory Resets: Dedicate time each day to being in a low-stimulation environment to allow your nervous system to downregulate.

Seek Specialized Support: Discuss these changes with a healthcare provider who understands the complexities of both ADHD and hormonal health. We are here to help decode the chemistry.

Understanding the "why" can empower you to find effective management strategies.

Are you fueling your success with sheer willpower?

For the high-achieving woman, the "facade" of having it all together often comes at a high internal cost. You’re hitting every target at work and leading your team or household with precision—but behind the scenes, you’re exhausted from working twice as hard just to stay on track.

At ADHD Life Medical Associates, we help you move beyond the "high-functioning" trap. We know that for you, "standard" productivity advice often just feels like another chore on the to-do list.

Our high-end coaching is built around your unique cognitive profile. We don't do one-size-fits-all hacks; we build personalized systems that align with how your brain actually works, allowing you to lead without the burnout.

It's time for success that feels sustainable.

Ready to stop the cycle of exhaustion and reclaim your mental energy?

Ever feel like your "productivity hacks" are suddenly hitting a brick wall?

It’s the question that keeps many of us up at night: Am I just burnt out, or is this actually ADHD?

The confusion is real because the symptoms look like twins. Brain fog, forgetfulness, and that paralyzing "where do I even start?" feeling are common to both. But the solution for one could actually make the other worse.

Here is the breakdown:

ADHD is about Wiring. It’s a lifelong history of inconsistent focus—swinging between "Hyperfocus" and "No Focus." It’s been there since childhood; it’s just how your brain is built.

Burnout is about an Empty Tank. It’s a recent onset caused by prolonged, high-level stress. It feels more like being "drained" rather than just "distracted," often leading to a loss of passion for things you used to love.

Why does the difference matter?
If you treat ADHD with just "rest," you’ll still struggle with executive function when you wake up. If you treat burnout with "stricter discipline," you’ll only crash harder.

Stop guessing and start solving. Whether it’s a structural wiring shift or a seasonal empty tank, the "work harder" approach isn't the answer.

Take the next step: Get a comprehensive evaluation to find out what’s actually happening under the hood.
