Your baby’s health starts from day one 🤍

At Augusta Health, we encourage families to follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) 2026 Immunization Schedule—because it reflects the latest science in protecting children.

At birth, this includes the first dose of the Hepatitis B vaccine and, during RSV season, an RSV antibody immunization to help keep your newborn safe.

We know you may have questions—and we’re here for them. Our team is always available to talk through your options and provide guidance every step of the way.

Talk with your pediatrician or labor & delivery team to learn more.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Vitamin K injections have been safely administered at birth for over 65 years.

In recent years, some studies have found evidence that more U.S. parents may be refusing vitamin K shots for their newborns. The AAP strongly recommends that all newborns receive a single intramuscular vitamin K shot shortly after birth to prevent life-threatening Vitamin K Deficiency Bleeding (VKDB).

Ask your healthcare provider to answer any questions you may have about the Vitamin K injection.
