New research is providing important, evidence-based insight for individuals considering egg freezing at age 35 and older.

A large national study from US Fertility, presented at the ASRM Scientific Congress & Expo, examined outcomes from more than 1,100 patients who returned to use eggs frozen at age 35+. The findings confirm that while fertility outcomes decline with age, egg freezing can still offer meaningful opportunities for family building—even into the early 40s.

Key findings from the study include:
• Ages 35–37: 49% achieved a live birth
• Ages 38–40: 32.5% live birth rate
• Ages 41–42: 20% achieved a live birth
• Over 42: 13% achieved at least one live birth
• 88.7% of eggs survived the thaw process

This research allows fertility specialists to offer more accurate, transparent counseling—helping patients better understand both the possibilities and limitations of egg freezing based on age.

How Does IVF Surrogacy Work?

IVF surrogacy, also called gestational surrogacy, is a family-building option where a surrogate carries a pregnancy created through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Here’s a simple breakdown of the process:

Eggs are fertilized with s***m in a specialized IVF lab to create embryos.

2️⃣ Embryo Transfer
A healthy embryo is carefully transferred into the surrogate’s uterus.

3️⃣ Pregnancy & Care

4️⃣ Birth & Family Bonding
After delivery, the baby is welcomed by the intended parent(s), with legal agreements in place ahead of time to protect everyone involved.
