The flashy looking stuff usually isn’t it

Lots of people sharing things that sound good, look good, seem good but aren’t good

What’s good is nailing the basics and being consistent

It’s simple really —

Focus mainly on strength and supplement with the rest.

There’s plenty of fun stability and mobility exercises always posted around, but these should only account for a small portion of your routine.

You don’t need complex exercises to fix your issues or get better.

Keep it simple and include only what’s needed.

Continuing to add to and build a strength program that works for runners —

My goal is to offer a solid program that runners can rely on and trust.

One that makes them feel strong and confident in their training and racing.

I continue to put my time and thought into it so there’s no guesswork on the other end.

This program is more than some standard workouts — it’s intentionally crafted routines that build runners up for the demands of running.

It involves communication and collaboration with a PT to make sure injuries are mitigated before becoming sidelined.

It’s a program I’m proud of and it’s ones that’s already helped hundreds of runners stay out there doing their thing.

Might strike a nerve with some of you 🤷‍♂️

99 times out of 100, it’s not your alignment

I get that it might feel that way, but those feelings and symptoms are part of a bigger problem almost always traced back to movement function

Strength, mobility, control… these things work in concert to prime the body for running and can be used as a tool to get rid of injuries

Focus on this and not the alignment issues someone told you that you have

What I’m trying to do here —

I’ve been reflecting some this year on what it is I’m trying to do here and why. Its good for me to come back to these questions because they change all the time. My goals and motivations from last year are different than this year.

I started this whole thing (my business) a few years ago because I was literally fed up with my “career”. I was very optimistic as a new PT for what I could accomplish and the extent I could help people, but as the years went by I only felt more and more boxed in. Opportunities were low, every day was a grind, and patient care was weighing on me. Being a PT wasn’t what I thought it was and I certainly wasn’t helping people how I wanted to. The whole system just felt inefficient and annoying.

When I decided to figure it out for myself, my only goal was to create something that worked for people and helped them. I still didn’t have it figured out then and there have been some significant growing pains, but I’d like to think every day I am embodying that more and more. I’m learning all the time, refining things, and always trying to get better at helping people.

So, what am I doing here?

It’s as simple as getting better at helping people and as complicated as spending hours/days building systems, programs, and strategizing for the people I help to make their experience as effective and efficient as possible.

These days, I’ve been able to help hundreds of runners a year work through injuries, become stronger athletes, and become more organized with their training.

The process is never perfect, but I’ll continue spending my time refining how I operate to make sure I can always help people in the capacity they need.
