We recently had the pleasure of hosting Northern Arizona University public health students as they informed our residents about air quality safety, precautions and what certain indicators mean. They took one-on-one time to answer questions and welcome feedback. Thank you for this!

It is very helpful when our residents help plan our festive themed days! Last week, we enjoyed a blast from the past as we took it back to the Roaring ‘20s era! There was lots of dancing, vintage dress-up costumes and a good ol’ time all around!

Nature is calling at The Lakes at Stillwater, a senior living campus managed by The Goodman Group. The John B. Goodman Walking Trail offers residents a scenic way to stay active, enjoy local wildlife and connect with the neighborhood. We love singing, dancing and celebrating birthdays with our residents and their friends and families! We recently celebrated a grand milestone birthday with our resident, Shirley F., who turned 101 years young during our monthly birthday party with special music entertainment by Doug! She kindly requested not to have a big party or have us “go out of our way,” as she wanted to celebrate with everyone who was also celebrating their birthdays, so we gladly listened and followed suit.

Shirley stated her secret to longevity is exercising. “I exercise every day, it’s very important to me.” Shirley is a true inspiration who continues to attend our daily FIT Functional Fitness® classes and engage in her favorite activities.

We are so happy to see our wonderful volunteers flourish in our community! Nevaeh and Olivia from the Cancer Support Community AZ recently presented an informative session about cancer prevention, followed by Nevaeh leading a relaxing art class with our residents. These young ladies have built great relationships with our team members and residents, and they’re making a big difference in our community!

Residents, nursing students and team members of The Peaks, A Senior Living Community had a grand day full of shenanigans as we dressed in our green St. Patrick’s Day attire and enjoyed our Clover Carnival-themed afternoon gathering, with games, fresh popcorn and special leprechaun punch. Lots of laughter was heard throughout our community!

Our Memory Café was a great success with much engagement as we welcomed the wonderful performers from Dancers on Tap, who had many of our residents dancing to upbeat music and festive holiday gear in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day! Our resident, Laurie P., also dressed up and cheerfully spread a lot of joy to everyone she encountered! We are so lucky to create such memorable moments that enhance the lives of our residents!

In celebration of National Employee Appreciation Day, we presented our team members with a pizza party luncheon with sweet cupcakes for dessert. We enjoy venturing out with our residents, from daily walks in this lovely 70-degree springtime weather to lunch dates at our resident-requested restaurants. This lunch spot was a delicious one. Thank you, El Tapatio, for a great meal and the special accommodation for our group!
