What You Can Control:
You are going to have frustrations about the world around you; Other people such as your partner, your friends. Things such as economy, wars, price of gas, politics...everyone and everything else in your life, everything the media, social media, your cellphone and everyone else can bring to your attention (and boy will they bring it all to your attention).
You may even have some sway over the course of some of that (a remarkably small percentage of any of it, if anything). But so many folks are so dead focused on all of everything else that they end up suffering where it matters most, the important personal level. Focus on what you CAN control...yourself, where you are vs where you want to be. because THAT is what you have the most influence over. Some offered ideas:
⦁ Don't wait for motivation. I was in a conversation talking to a brother of mine about going to the gym and trouble finding the motivation. I'm going to be 100% honest with you: The hell with motivation, my friend. Motivation is a loud-mouthed friend you cannot rely on, a feeling at best, and you would get nothing done if all you ever did was wait for motivation. You've gotta get up, go and do what you want to accomplish even when you're not motivated. In fact that's the most important time to do it is to get up and just get to it, ESPECIALLY when you have no motivation to do it. The motivation will come and go But especially on the days when you have 0 motivation to do it that is the most important time to get up, get active, and just start whatever it is!
⦁ You have to set your own course for the direction you want to go. No one else can do that for you. You are the wind in your own sails and You are the rudder, so you are the one who is going to determine what direction you choose to take yourself in your journey. As the wind and rudder, you not only get up and get to it, you aim by doing the footwork prep for whatever it is.
⦁ Get the Knowledge: This means learn about what you are wanting to do, find the tools, inside and out; mental, physical and even emotional and spiritual (if it applies), that your end goal needs you to acquire to manifest itself through you! The universe is really good at dropping hints but it is up to you to investigate those hints and find the tools in order to keep moving in the direction of your desired outcome!
⦁ Be Mindful. Be conscious and aware of your own self in the moment. Being aware of your thoughts and feelings and even how your body feels in the moment in order to plan and then make your next move in whatever direction you need to move. Look up mindfulness activities to help you keep your spirit up and aware. This helps you be open to those lil hints the universe is always dropping for you. I'm not usggesting you find religion (unless that is what does it for you), but be mindful of your own personal spiritual connection to yourself and the universe of which you are a part of.
⦁ Make sure your body is getting the right Nutrition and good hydration. This is so important as it doesn't just affect your body alone, but your mind, and the two of those also affects your spirit. Your whole being, in terms of Mind/Body/Spirit, is a Holistic system and what affects one system affects all other systems, so getting proper nutrition and hydration daily is so vital. The wrong fuel for the system can bring the whole thing crashing down. You know when this is happpening because you can pay attention to how you feel...goes back to being Mindful. Often you already know what is good and what is bad quality nutrition and hydration for your system. If you don't no worries, you can find out! The whole of the internet is FILLED with this information at your finger tips. And if you have trouble, Find a nutritionist! They are trained to help!
⦁ Get outside! Get Out There and get some Fresh Air and while you are at it, get some Vitamin D, The Sun has a whole lot of it and it is giving it for free! If you have photosensitivity and that isn't an option, they make supplements. Consult your doctor for what the right ones for you to take are. But there ARE options. Make a full habit out of making sure you have fresh air and sunlight! You may be surprised just how that alone can make you feel so much better!
⦁ Disconnect from things like the news, social media, politics, everything outside of you trying to keep you stressed and focused on everything outside of you. Yeah, it's important to be aware but you do not have to drown yourself in it every day. Disconnect and do as the mystics say...turn inward. Focus on the part of the universe that is YOU!
As you do this, you are going to find that it isn't even "motivation" that has your life changing, but just your every day practice. That is what is going to have your life changing before you even realize it!
