What does it actually look like to go from your first orthotic fitting to functional support?

Did you know?

Last year, New Jersey passed S1439/A3856 - a law that requires insurance plans to cover an additional orthotic or prosthetic device when prescribed by your clinician for physical or recreational activities.

For many people, the idea of a sport-specific or activity-specific device felt “out of reach” because insurance wouldn’t cover it. This new law changes that conversation.

If you live in New Jersey and were told in the past that an activity-specific prosthesis or orthosis wasn’t covered, it may be worth revisiting the topic with your orthotist/prosthetist.

From College Park to the Össur XC Pro. 👣

Don is looking for a more active foot to keep up with his 5K runs and gym boot camps. So far, the reaction and feel of this new setup are exactly what he’s looking for.

"Quite a bit more action than the other foot," says Don. Next step: taking it home for a trial run.

After his stroke, Jeffery needed a solution for his foot drop. In this video he talks about his understanding of how the Tectus brace from will support him, and then he tests it out!

Jeffery noticed how it supported him when he needed it, making him feel more secure and giving him the sense of control and stability that’s essential for everyday life.

Bryan spent some time in our office recently doing something he hasn't been able to do much in years - move his legs.

We have been working with him, using a custom C-brace to improve his mobility after his MS diagnosis.
