SERVICE LINES

CARE NAVIGATION - Providing support and guidance for individuals and families as they navigate the aging journey, helping them evaluate their current and anticipated needs to ensure that a full range of support and safeguards are in place. HOME CARE - Our certified Home Care staff are trained to provide you and your loved ones with caring assistance to help with life's simple daily routines including grocery shopping/errands, bathing, dressing, meal prep, laundry, mobility and doctor's visits. From an hour a day to around the clock care, we are here to support you and your loved ones. PALLIATIVE CARE - Palliative Care is an extra layer of support for people with serious illness. This type of care is focused on providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain and stress of a serious illness - whatever the diagnosis. The goal is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and family. Palliative Care is delivered by a team of providers, nurses, social workers and other specialists who work with your existing providers to deliver a customized care plan. Palliative Care is appropriate at any age and any stage of a serious illness, and can be provided together with curative treatment. HOSPICE CARE - Hospice is specialized care provided to patients with a serious illness. Each dedicated hospice team of professionals and volunteers provides pain and symptom management, as well as patient and family support and spiritual comfort. Hospice Care has a six month Medicare benefit and can be received in your home, a nursing home, assisted living facility, hospital, and our in-patient facility, Elizabeth House. GRIEF SERVICES - Grief counseling and education are available in both individual and group settings to kids and adults, regardless of hospice involvement. While grief is a universal process of recovery from a loss, it can be the most difficult experience of our life. We incorporate innovative grief techniques and education for those receiving Hospice Care, their loved ones, and the community at large. Four Seasons is supported by generous community donations to the Four Seasons Foundation and the Hospice Home Stores. Foundation donations and purchases from any of their three Hospice Home Stores located in Hendersonville, Arden and Brevard, enable all patients to have access to the care they need, regardless of the ability to pay. Four Seasons currently serves 14 counties in Western North Carolina: Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, and Transylvania. Did you know that part of the hospice care benefit, you can receive up to five days respite care at Elizabeth House? Respite care extends whole-person care to the patient's caregivers and family. Read more about whole-person care at https://fourseasonscare.org/whole-person-care/

Our in-patient facility, Elizabeth House, provides overnight respite care based on availability and eligibility. A five-night stay is available for patients who live at home to allow their caregiver to have a break. While here, our respite patients are cared for as closely as possible to the way they are cared for in the home. We strive to follow the same medication, sleep, feeding, and activity schedule that is provided by the caregiver and agreed upon with the care team. It is anticipated that the patient will return to the previous residence once the five-night respite stay is complete. Your Medical Social Worker can help coordinate respite stays and transport, if needed.

If your loved one needs more care than can be provided at home, Elizabeth House continues to provide the whole-person care you receive at home. Read more about whole-person care at https://fourseasonscare.org/whole-person-care/

While many of our patients do opt to receive care in their home, at times, symptoms can no longer be well-managed in a home setting. So, a stay at Four Seasons’ inpatient unit, Elizabeth House, may be needed. The Elizabeth House at Four Seasons is a home-like environment that provides a comfortable, soothing atmosphere for patients and families to receive whole-person care. Here, our interdisciplinary team can address challenging symptoms and issues that cannot be managed in other care settings. We are able to provide the same services as our in-home patients, including management of physical symptoms, emotional support, music therapy, and spiritual care.

How does in-home hospice care provide whole-person care? Read more about whole-person care at https://fourseasonscare.org/whole-person-care/

When people think of hospice care, they often picture care in a hospice inpatient unit. While a small percentage of hospice patients do need care in an inpatient setting, most receive care in the place they call home. That can be a personal home or apartment, an assisted living or skilled nursing facility, a hospital, a motel, or even a homeless shelter. YOU direct your care plan, and what is most important to you is most important to us. Your home is part of you, and receiving care in that environment can further help us provide whole-person care.

Four Seasons is honored to provide specialized care for Veterans through the We Honor Veterans program. Please join us in honoring those who have served this Veterans Day.

We recognize Veterans Day because…
-It honors those currently serving, those who have served, and those who gave their lives in defense of our country.
-It recognizes the invaluable contributions veterans have made to our nation and expresses gratitude for their service.
-It acknowledges the sacrifices made by veterans’ families.
-It invites reflection on the challenges veterans face, including access to healthcare, mental wellness, housing, and employment.
-It calls us to advocate for the needs and well-being of our veterans.

Music Therapy is an innovative and effective way of providing whole-person care. Read more about whole-person care at https://fourseasonscare.org/whole-person-care/

Music is a powerful medium. We are flooded with emotion and memory when we hear meaningful songs or tunes. We depend on music to keep us focused at times and relaxed at other times. We soak up the comfort that familiar music brings to us, whether we are spending time with those we love or are all alone.

As a profession, music therapy intertwines this inherent power of music with counseling skills to provide whole-person care. Music therapy interventions are evidence-based and tailored to the specific needs of each individual patient, family member, and/or bereavement client.
