Thank you Ridgeville Equestrian Center of Ottawa Lake, Mi for hosting 2 fuzzy shows for minis and ponies every year.
Fuzzy shows give youth and adults a chance to learn how to show miniature horses and ponies in a lower pressure setting. They are usually less formal and more affordable than rated shows, which makes them a good place for new exhibitors to practice ring skills, learn patterns, and gain confidence. Exhibitors can focus on improving their handling and showmanship while learning how shows work without the stress or cost of larger competitions.
Farms can play an important role in supporting this by either hosting fuzzy shows or bringing their rookie exhibitors to participate in them. These shows help new people gain experience in the ring, understand the flow of a show day, and build confidence before moving on to bigger competitions. Encouraging and supporting fuzzy shows helps grow the sport by creating more opportunities for people to learn, practice, and stay involved with miniature horses and ponies.
