The Art of Receiving: Why Slowing Down Is a Radical Act of Health 🤍
In a world that rewards productivity, output, and constant doing, many of us have become incredibly skilled at giving — our time, energy, care, and attention — often at the expense of ourselves.
But what about receiving?
Receiving rest.
Receiving support.
Receiving pleasure, nourishment, and spaciousness.
Receiving without guilt, apology, or justification.
The art of receiving is not passive. It is intentional. And for many, it is deeply uncomfortable — especially for women who have been conditioned to equate worth with usefulness.
From a health perspective, this matters more than we realize.
When we are always in “doing” mode, the nervous system remains in a chronic state of activation. Over time, this can contribute to inflammation, hormonal imbalance, digestive issues, poor sleep, and emotional depletion. The body keeps score — and eventually asks us to slow down.
Receiving is how we signal safety to the nervous system.
Receiving is how we create space for healing.
Receiving is how we return to balance.
This winter, as we move toward the softer energy of late February, I felt a clear inner nudge to push back our Goddess Party — not out of urgency, but out of alignment. More space. More ease. More opportunity for the right people to gather.

This evening will be an intentional pause — a space to soften, reflect, connect, and practice receiving in its many forms. Through guided intention-setting, gentle conversation, and embodied presence, we’ll explore what it truly means to allow rather than strive.
No fixing.
No forcing.
Just coming home to yourself.
If you’ve been feeling called to slow down, to reconnect with your inner wisdom, or to experience community in a more nourishing way — this is your invitation.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do for our health, our creativity, and our lives…is to receive.
