So we created a warm and welcoming place where you receive specialized medical care in one single location. At Hunterdon Gastroenterology Associates, you’ll have a team of highly experienced and skilled specialists working with your primary care physician to provide the relief you deserve.

Spring's best vegetable just got a seriously delicious upgrade. πŸ˜‹

Asparagus on its own is a natural prebiotic, meaning it helps feed the good bacteria in your gut. But when you pair it with a frazzled egg and some Parmesan, it becomes a meal you'll want all the time! 🀌

Be honest... are you getting enough fiber? πŸ˜…

Most Americans aren't. According to the American Institute for Cancer Research, most of us are only getting about half the fiber we need each day. And it turns out, that gap matters more than we realize when it comes to colorectal cancer risk and overall gut health.

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute put together a really helpful breakdown regarding fiber and colon cancer.

That post-meal discomfort might just be indigestion, but how do you know when it's time to call a doctor? πŸ€”

Dr. Matthews' rule of thumb: if it doesn't improve, or comes with bleeding or trouble swallowing, it's time to be seen.

When in doubt, reach out. We're just a phone call away. πŸ™Œ

"I almost canceled my colonoscopy because I told myself I was too young."

This is the story about Sam. He is 26 years old, eats healthy, works out, doesn't smoke, and has no family history of colorectal cancer. Yet, he almost had it.πŸ™

His doctor told him that waiting just two more years could have meant a cancer diagnosis. The truth is, colorectal cancer isn't something that only affects older people.

Luckily, early detection saved him. It can save you, too. πŸ™Œ

πŸ‘‰ Listen to Sam's story: https://bit.ly/4bE4CG1

His experience is a good reminder that colorectal cancer doesn't discriminate. Symptoms like blood in your stool, mucus, and chronic constipation are your body asking for help. So please don't wait until it's too late.

Talk to your doctor. Get screened. Your life is worth it. πŸ’™

Many people brush off bloating as just "something that happens" after they eat. πŸ«„

But bloating that happens regularly after meals is something worth paying attention to. Frequent bloating can be linked to food intolerances, IBS, and other conditions that are very manageable with the right care.

The important thing to know is this β†’ Common doesn't mean normal. ❌

Talking about your gut health is NEVER oversharing. And there is a cost to staying silent about it.

At HGA, we create a space where no symptom is too awkward or embarrassing to discuss. Getting answers starts with one honest conversation.

So let's break the stigma and talk about what your gut is telling you. πŸ’¬
