Due to fears of contracting COVID-19 or taking up space in hospitals, patients experiencing a heart attack or stroke are delaying their essential care, causing a new public health crisis.

Hospitals are still treating heart attack, stroke and not just COVID-19, and are taking the utmost precautions to ensure that the novel coronavirus not be spread. The faster a patient is treated, the higher the outcome of survival and lower the risk for complications.

Hunterdon Cardiovascular Associates would like to welcome their newest physician, Dr. Rupen Parikh. Dr. Parikh is a non-invasive cardiologist. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in New Jersey. He then did a Cardiovascular Research Post Doctorial Fellowship, followed by his Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship at Seton Hall. He was an associate Chief Medical Resident and Chief Cardiology Fellow during his training. Dr. Parikh has publications in the Clinical Cardiology Journal, Echocardiography Journal, Texas Heart Institute Journal, Coronary Artery Disease Journal, Journal of Emergency Medicine and many more. In 2015, he became the Director of Echocardiography at the Diagnostic Imaging Center in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania. Dr. Parikh was practicing at Intermountain Medical Group and Wilkes Barre General hospital as non-invasive Cardiologist in Kingston, Pennsylvania for the last seven years. Dr Parikh is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, vascular studies, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. He is a member of American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and American Society of Echocardiography. Dr. Parikh is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi.
