Many adults do well with an occupational therapy evaluation and consultation for sensory processing differences. We do not put adults into the same equipment we use with children (like swings and ball pits), but we provide the consultation you need to make meaningful changes. When more support is needed we can prepare a home program using some equipment such as home listening programs, coping skill development, proprioceptive activities (resistive weight bearing) and other activities designed to raise the adult’s threshold to sensation and normalize his/her reactions.

Hi, I am Gina Taylor, Occupational Therapist and certified in Sensory Integration. I am offering the chance for 4 adults who want to learn more about how they process sensory information to join me in a new OT program for adults.
Together we will:
Complete a OT evaluation of your sensory processing and modulation
Discuss your goals and what you want to be able to do that is currently impacted by your sensory profile (over or under reactive)
Create an individualized plan to understand and work with your sensory preferences in 4 sessions (telehealth from your home to mine for 30-45 minutes each week)

If you are curious, please reach out and we can discuss this together.

You really should be able to enjoy sensory experiences- a loud rock concert (maybe with headphones), the smell of dinner cooking or cuddling on the couch without your skin crawling. You know that feeling inside where you want to run away screaming from the sensation, but you manage otherwise and then crash and burn later?

We can change the way our nervous systems responds to these common situations.

Realizing as an adult that you have a sensory processing disorder can be an life changing experience. Discovering that not everyone experiences the world as an intense sensory experience opens up a new level of understanding and a hurricane of emotions about yourself and your experiences in the world.

Starting in February, I am opening a very limited number of adult sensory focused occupational therapy sessions.

This offering is for adults who:

Feel easily overwhelmed or shut down

Push through until they crash

Struggle with noise, pace, transitions, or stress

Sense that their nervous system is running the show

This is not child-based occupational therapy and not talk therapy. It is practical, body-based work focused on how sensory processing shows up in adult life, work, and relationships.
Our service includes:

One comprehensive sensory evaluation

Four individual telehealth sessions (30–45 minutes each)

Clear strategies you can actually use and support that respects your limits and a busy life.

Cost: $250 for the full package
Start dates: February
Spots: 4

This work is grounded in trust, safety, and real-world function — not pushing, fixing, or forcing change.

If this feels like it fits, message the page or email to inquire.

The world bombards us daily with busy environments, cluttered sights, and multiple sounds. For some of us, these everyday experiences can quickly turn overwhelming, leading to sensory overload. When one or more of our senses become overwhelmed, our brains struggle to cope with the flood of information. From busy restaurants to crowded grocery stores, even a single loud sound or a bright light can tip the scales, leaving us feeling stressed, uncomfortable and overwhelmed.

New Year’s Eve can be a lot on your nervous system.

Noise. Lights. Late nights. Social pressure. Expectations.

If you’re an adult with sensory differences, you don’t need to “push through” the celebrations tonight.

A few reminders from an Occupational Therapist as the year closes:

It’s okay to leave early

It’s okay to stay home

It’s okay to turn the volume down (or ask someone to)

It’s okay to mark the new year quietly in a way that is meaningful to you

Sensory Regulation is not avoidance. You can make different choices. It is not weakness, it makes sense to feel at ease as the New Year begins.

You don’t have to start the year overstimulated to prove anything.
