Hunterdon Cardiovascular Associates

Hunterdon Cardiovascular Associates Hunterdon Cardiovascular Assoc. is dedicated to improving the cardiovascular health of our community.

In 1997 two small cardiology groups in Hunterdon County, NJ merged to form Hunterdon Cardiovascular Associates. Within a few years HCA was able to open a branch office in Whitehouse at the Health and Wellness Center. In order to accommodate a growing practice, this office was subsequently moved to the Clinton Health and Wellness Center in October 2008. This office is open 5 days a week for office visits as well as for a full array of noninvasive testing. In October 2012 HCA looked eastward and opened an office in Raritan. In June 2016 this one day a week office moved to Bridgewater, NJ on Rt. 22 and is now open 5 days a week for office visits as well as cardiac and vascular testing. Since 1997 HCA has grown from 5 physicians to now include 12 physicians, 7 advanced practice practitioners, and over 80 employees. Our physicians have been responsible for establishing the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Hunterdon Medical Center for cardiac and peripheral catheterizations and interventions, for establishing a cardiac CT program at the hospital, for opening both a specialty Faint and Fall clinic as well as a Heart Failure clinic within the practice, and establishing the Hunterdon Vein Institute, among many other accomplishments. We are proud to have had physicians named Top Doctors by NJ Monthly as well as by NJTopDocs. Our physicians are Board Certified Cardiologists and are Fellows of the American College of Cardiology who have received in-depth training in various sub-specialties. We provide a full range of cardiac services for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Come to us for experienced care in:

Because this condition is often silent, you can feel perfectly healthy while plaque builds up in your arteries. Whether it is due to lifestyle or family history, managing your levels is a vital step in preventing a heart attack.

Quality nutrition is about choosing the right fuel for your heart. Incorporating 🥑🫒 healthy fats, like those found in olive oil, nuts, and fatty fish, can help reduce inflammation and protect your arteries.

Your heart valves act as the "gatekeepers" of your circulation, ensuring blood flows efficiently in the right direction. Over time, these valves can narrow or leak, a condition known as valvular heart disease. 🫀 While age is a factor, proactive lifestyle changes, like managing your cholesterol and staying active, play a significant role in your heart's structural health.

High blood pressure is often called a "silent" condition, but your diet can be a powerful tool in managing it. Try reducing your sodium intake by using fresh herbs 🌿 and citrus 🍋 to flavor your meals instead of salt. 🧂While small changes at home make a difference, professional monitoring is key to staying ahead of your heart health.

What a wonderful way to step into spring! We had a fantastic time at our latest Walk with a Doc event, led by Dr. Andrew Rudnick. It was a pleasure to catch up with familiar friends and welcome new faces to the group.

Staying active is one of the best things you can do for your heart, and there is no better way to do it than with a stroll and great conversation.

March is National Nutrition Month! This month, we’re focusing on simple, effective ways to protect your heart. One of the easiest changes you can make is to incorporate more fiber-rich whole grains 🍞 into your meals to help manage your cholesterol. A heart-healthy diet is your first line of defense, but it's equally important to know when a professional check-up is necessary.

If you’re unsure if your symptoms require a specialist, read our guide on the 10 signs it’s time to see a cardiologist.

Does leg pain or a "heavy" feeling keep you from enjoying your daily walk? Many of us dismiss these symptoms as a natural part of aging, but they could be signs of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). PAD occurs when plaque narrows the arteries, restricting blood flow to your limbs. If you have a history of smoking, high blood pressure, or diabetes, you could be at risk.

Our specialists at the Center for Vascular Care are here to help you maintain your mobility and independence.

Do you know where you stand when it comes to heart disease? Knowledge is your most powerful tool for prevention. While we can’t change risk factors like age or family history, understanding them is crucial. Knowing your risk profile helps you focus on what you can control, such as managing blood pressure, cholesterol, and lifestyle choices.

Take a moment this Heart Month to understand your risks so you can take charge of your future health. https://bit.ly/3XSm7eh
