Kimberly Redfern has been a Professional Member of the AMTA since 1988! This organization has been at the forefront of advocating for state licensing and in general the standards of the massage and bodywork profession. Not all states are created equal but the AMTA is working hard at getting all the states up to date. As a licensed massage therapist, Kimberly has seen tremendous strides in this industry. New Jersey was not always a licensed state. September of 2012 NJ licensing became effective! Every two years you must renew this license by providing proof of continuing education, CPR certification, and liability insurance. If you are a consumer you have the right to ask for proof of licensing and in fact this license should be posted on the wall of the office. Client health history intake forms are mandatory at your first visit. License number should be printed on all advertising and marketing materials such as websites and business cards.
AMTA remains deeply committed to advancing the massage therapy profession through strategic legislative and regulatory efforts. Explore our key advocacy areas of focus and the direction we’re taking to move the profession forward: https://bit.ly/4hC9bTR
