🚨 SCAM ALERT: “NOTICE OF DEFAULT” LETTERS
If you’ve received something that looks like this in the mail or by text … take a breath, it’s NOT legit.
We’ve had reports of these fake “traffic violation” notices circulating in our community, trying to scare folks into paying fines quickly by scanning a QR code or clicking a link.

Courts and law enforcement will NOT demand immediate payment through QR codes, random links, or unofficial websites.

⚠️ Red Flags to watch for:
“Final warning” or “urgent enforcement action” language meant to scare you
Requests to scan a QR code to make a payment
Generic or questionable case information
Pressure to act immediately

What you SHOULD do:
DO NOT scan the QR code or click any links
DO NOT send payment through anything listed on the notice
If you’re unsure, call the clerk of court directly using an official number (not the one on the letter)

You can also check your case status safely at nccourts.gov

Please help us find the perfect adoptive home for this amazing future comedian, Nick.

Nicklous, who prefers to go by “Nick”, loves to tell jokes that make other people laugh! He gets along easily with adults and his peers, and he enjoys being around others and feeling included. He has a keen eye for building things and loves spending time creating worlds with LEGOs and video games. But if he feels a bit competitive, Nick delights in playing flag football outside. When really interested in a subject, he is fond of getting lost in a book and learning all that he can. Lately, he’s been fascinated by science and is absorbing as much as he can through books and science videos. Nick is the biggest fan of cheesy broccoli and mashed potatoes with country gravy. He adores animals, especially cats and dogs, and hopes to have a home with pets someday. Although his favorite holiday is Halloween, one of his favorite characters is the Grinch, in addition to Ninjago. If he could have any superpower, he would like to have the ability to be a shadow. He is known for being very helpful, and his favorite colors are purple and mint green. Nick states that he dreams of “finding a family that loves me” and wants to go fishing and camping someday.

As a sixth grader, math and science are his favorite subjects.

Nick would do best in a home with a mom and a dad, with siblings to play with. A home with pets in a rural area is preferred; however, his caseworker will consider all family types. Financial assistance may be available for adoption-related services.

For Missouri children, both home-studied and non-home-studied Missouri families are encouraged to inquire; only home-studied families from other states should do so.

If you would like make an official adoption inquiry please visit https://www.raisethefuture.org/waiting-children #!/profile/376118/

If you can't adopt we ask that you share to help spread awareness.
