When a woman comes to us requesting a forensic exam, often called a r**e kit, she is arriving in one of the most vulnerable moments of her life. The process can be lengthy, clinical, and emotionally exhausting โ€” and in many cases, her clothing must be collected as evidence. We are seeking donations of new, comfort related items โ€” such as soft sweatpants, oversized T-shirts, underwear, cozy socks, blankets, and basic hygiene products โ€” so that after the exam, she can leave wrapped in dignity and care.

April is Stress Awareness Month ๐ŸŒฟ

What is stress?
According to the American Institute of Stress, stress is the bodyโ€™s nonspecific response to any demand. It can come from positive experiences like starting a new job or negative situations like financial pressure.

Stress is not always bad. In small amounts, it can help motivate and focus us. But ongoing stress can affect our mental, emotional, and physical health. This month, take time to recognize how stress shows up in your life. Check in with yourself. Reach out to someone who may be feeling overwhelmed. Small steps toward awareness can make a big difference.
