Serenity House is a recovery community that advocates for people in recovery.

Serenity House is a 501(c) 3 non-profit founded in 2015 by Tara Moreno as an addiction prevention service in Flint, Michigan. Serenity House is a recovery community organization that provides substance abuse and co-occurring disorders prevention for men, women, and adolescents. Services are conducted utilizing a Community Resiliency model that meets consumers in their current stage of change and empowers them to move through the trauma incurred from addiction from a whole-person perspective. Serenity House House provides a wide spectrum of services including: advocacy and educational events to reduce stigma surrounding addiction, and holistic methods to prevent addiction such as Recovery Reiki, Acudetox, Mindfulness for Adolescents & Adults, Yoga for Children, Adolescents, & Adults, Aromatherapy, and Drumming. The Serenity House of Flint is committed to promoting change and awareness; reducing stigma and shame by providing a better understanding of recovery.

At Serenity House Communities, we know the stress so many families are facing right now — especially those who rely on SNAP food benefits and are worried about what happens during the shutdown. We want you to know, you are not alone, and there are places stepping up to help.

🍂 Holiday Support in the Works:
We are actively working to provide Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas dinners to families in need in our community. If you’re concerned about your food benefits or struggling to make ends meet this season, please reach out to us. We’ll help you register and get connected with one of the holiday meal programs.

You’re part of our community—and our goal is to make sure no one goes hungry or feels forgotten. Share this post with anyone you know who might need help. Together we can carry each other through.

🎃 What an incredible weekend for Serenity House Communities!

We had the best time at the Lapeer Trunk or Treat yesterday — our turnout was amazing, and are thrilled to share that we tripled our numbers in the community we serve! We couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who came out to join the fun and show support.

Our SHC Flint Trunk or Treat was AMAZING!
This is truly one of our favorite events and last Friday didn't disappoint! The community showed up for a night of fun, laughter, candy and community spirit. Seeing all the kids and families smiling and dressed up makes our hearts so full!

What a beautiful and busy Wednesday it was for Serenity House Communities. Letha started the day attending A Cup of Courage with the resilience community of St. Luke's. She also led a Women's Empowerment group with Rosana at Beauty for Ashes. Meanwhile, Darci represented SHC on a Community Panel alongside true powerhouses of the community! What an honor!
We're so proud to be part of this movement of healing, awareness and connection. 🥰💜💛
